Pro-Tech Energy Solutions
LLC,has announced the successful installations of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation systems on the roofs of two buildings at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Burlington County, N.J.
"There are certain things the U.S. military can do on a mass scale better than anyone - mobilizing people, engineering and operating advanced technologies, to name a few," said John Drexinger, COO, Pro-Tech Energy Solutions.
"We are proud that the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst recognized the professional expertise of the seasoned team of energy professionals we have assembled at Pro-Tech to execute this project."
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is a tri-service military installation that combines McGuire Air Force Base, Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, and Fort Dix. The solar panel systems, installed at Building 3104 Customer Service and Building 2635 Dining Hall have a combined estimated annual production of 155,100 kWh.
This project allows the base to show its leadership in applying renewable energy and new technology to reduce use of traditional forms of electric power, and recover investment costs and produce electricity at a savings.
For this project Pro-Tech contracted with Graybar, who has a government contract to provide incidental services to the federal government; the contract also includes MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation). Graybar is based in St. Louis, MO, and is the largest, employee-owned distributor of electrical-data/communications.
Each year the energy savings from renewable energy production will prevent 202,793 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere, the environmental impact equivalent of conserving 8,737 gallons of oil.
